Pre Kindy and Kindy

Pre Kindy
Our Pre-Kindy program offers three-year-olds a nurturing and engaging introduction to school life through play-based learning. Children build confidence while developing communication, creativity, social skills and physical wellbeing in a supportive environment.
Designed to suit busy families, the program runs alongside school terms and provides flexible attendance options of up to six sessions or three full days per week.
Sessions are available Tuesday to Thursday:
- 8:45am – 11:55am
- 12:10pm – 3:20pm
- Full day: 8:45am – 3:20pm
Families can choose individual or combined sessions, including full days, to create a schedule that works for them.
Optional 5 Day Kindy
At JSR, we believe every child develops their sense of identity through meaningful connections with educators, peers and the wider community. In our early learning environment, children are supported to explore, question and express themselves as they grow in confidence and understanding of the world around them.
Through play-based, responsive learning experiences, we nurture each child’s individual strengths and curiosity.
We aim for every child to develop:
- A strong sense of identity
- A connection to and respect for their world
- A sense of wellbeing and belonging
- Confidence as active, capable learners
- Strong communication skills

Unique Learning Environment
Our purpose-built Early Learning campus, set within beautiful natural surroundings, offers an inspiring space where young children grow in confidence and curiosity as they begin to understand the world around them. Our open classrooms foster connection, collaboration and a strong sense of belonging.
Through our Bush Classroom, children explore and learn through hands-on, inquiry-based play in a natural setting, developing creativity and problem-solving skills. These experiences also introduce Indigenous perspectives, nurturing respect for the land and an appreciation of the cultures and histories that shape our community.
Academic Enrichment and Early Intervention
We tailor learning experiences to help every child achieve their personal best, nurturing individual strengths from the very beginning. From day one, children are immersed in a rich program that includes literacy, numeracy, inquiry, wellbeing and specialist learning areas.
In Kindergarten, we take a proactive approach to each child’s development, including early screening for speech, and fine and gross motor skills. Where needed, we work alongside qualified Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists to provide targeted support.
This early identification and partnership with families ensures every child is supported, confident and ready to thrive as they transition into formal schooling
Music and The Arts
From Pre-Kindy to Year 1, children are introduced to music through performance, instruments and basic music theory, building a strong foundation for ongoing participation in the JSR Instrumental Music Program from Year 2.
Creative expression is nurtured across all areas of the Arts. Through Drama and Dance, students develop confidence, coordination and a sense of rhythm, while our specialist Visual Arts program encourages exploration through drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and printmaking.
Student work is proudly celebrated within our community, both in everyday displays across our Early Learning spaces and at our annual Visual Art and Design Exhibition, where families can experience the creativity and growth of our young learners.
Specialist Physical Education Classes
Our sport program encourages children to develop a lifelong love of physical activity while building confidence, resilience and teamwork. Through a range of age-appropriate activities, students are supported to enjoy movement, challenge themselves and experience the benefits of an active, healthy lifestyle.
A much-anticipated milestone is the Junior Primary Sports Afternoon in Term 4. This special event gives students their first taste of friendly competition, House spirit and community celebration, as they proudly participate alongside their peers in a fun and supportive environment.
