Life at JSR

Life at JSR
Life at JSR is grounded in a caring, inclusive community where diversity is celebrated. Our House system fosters belonging and leadership, while strong Pastoral Care and wellbeing programs ensure every student is known and supported. A rich range of co‑curricular opportunities builds confidence, connection and growth beyond the classroom, through service, faith and community.
The JSR Houses
JSR’s six Houses are the foundation of our Pastoral Care system, bringing students and staff together in Durham, Kelmscott, Newbury, Parmelia, Roebourne and Sandleford. The House system nurtures belonging, pride and connection to school life, while honouring the history of our school and its namesake, John Septimus Roe, Western Australia’s first surveyor.

Balancing an academic focus with personal pursuits
At JSR, students are encouraged to discover new passions through a wide range of co‑curricular opportunities. From Year 3 onwards, students can build on existing interests, develop their skills, broaden their horizons and form meaningful connections with like‑minded peers and staff.
