Starting at JSR in the Junior Years

Kindy Orientation Days

Your child is invited to attend one of our Kindergarten Orientation Days at JSR on Friday, 5 December or Monday, 8 December, from 9.15–10.30am (arrival from 9.00am).

The morning is an important aspect of the School’s Transition Program. It allows students to experience what it will be like to be a student at JSR. Children will enjoy activities in the Early Learning Centre to help them feel confident and familiar.

Enrolled families will be emailed detailed information prior to the event.

Primary Orientation Day

Orientation Days at JSR for Primary students will be held on Thursday, 13 November 2026, or Monday, 1 December 2026 at 9.00am (arrival from 8.50am), concluding at 2.30pm.

These days are an important aspect of the School’s Transition Program, as they allow students to become familiar with the school routine and experience what it will be like to be a student at JSR. Students will tour the school and have opportunities to make new connections.

Detailed information about Orientation Day will be sent to enrolled families prior to the event.

Headstart Day

Friday 29 January 2027

All primary students from PK-6 are welcome to visit with their parents for a ‘HeadStart’ morning between 8.45am until 11.45am. This ‘HeadStart’ gives our students time to familiarise themselves with their classroom and meet their teacher. We believe this is a valuable opportunity for students to settle into their new environment and should aid in a smooth transition into the new school year.

Parents are invited to park on the Terry Hann Oval and walk with their child to their classroom. You may choose to use this morning to bring any items from their booklist.
